What is snoburbia?

Snoburbia (snob + suburbia) is a t-shirt site that celebrates suburbia and gently pokes fun at suburban snobbery, consumption and academic competition.

What makes snoburbia.com different?

We start with the assumption that our customers are intelligent, fun people who appreciate simple clean design. We offer you custom fabric/cut choices and well-made, fashion-quality shirts, with original designs you won’t see on thousands of people. (And our site is family-friendly, so everyone can enjoy shopping with us.)

When will I receive my order?

We try our best to get each custom order to each customer within two weeks, including shipping. Often you’ll receive it sooner. Occasionally it takes longer because of our custom order process. We don’t warehouse shirts. Each shirt is custom printed, and this takes longer than mass production. We will rush your shirt to you as soon as it is ready.

Why aren’t all designs offered in all colors?

At snoburbia.com we carefully choose the t-shirt colors based on what will work with each individual design and what will sell in our demographic. We think we have a good eye. As we grow we may offer designs in more colors.

Will my shirt be the exact color shown on the details page?

We approximate the color of the t-shirts as closely as possible, using web colors. Your computer monitor isn’t the same as the next and may affect how you see colors. Please see our colors page for detailed color descriptions. If you have further questions, please email us at service@snoburbia.com.

What size shirt should I order?

It depends on which cut you choose. Each fits a little differently. Please see the fabric/cut link at the top of each page for detailed information and to view size charts. Please read the size chart carefully before you order your custom shirt.

Why do some shirts cost more?

Simple – they cost us more. Our two fashion cuts (women’s slim and men’s fashion) are especially soft, comfortable and stylish. All of our shirts were chosen because they are of excellent quality.

What are my payment options?

You can pay with a credit card or Paypal. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Paypal. Right now we are using Paypal’s shopping cart system, because it is reliable and secure. We are a tiny new company, and as we grow we will re-evaluate our checkout system. As of now, it works quite well for us and our customers.

Can I track my order?

When we ship your order, we will send you an email showing that your order is on its way. We will receive a delivery confirmation when it arrives at the shipping address you specified during checkout.

How much is shipping?

For now, we use the U.S. Postal Service for domestic shipping. We prefer Priority Mail for its reliability, economy and speed. Please use our shipping calculator (at the top of the shopping cart page) to determine your shipping cost. It will be calculated automatically as you check out, based on the number of shirts you buy. We determine prices based on weight, required packaging and destination.

Do you ship internationally?

Not yet. We hope to add this to our site in the near future.

What is your return policy?

We want you to be happy with your snoburbia.com t-shirt. If for any reason you are unsatisfied with your shirt, you can return it to us for a full refund minus shipping charges. However, don’t just mail it back to us. First, please email us within 7 days of delivery, at service@snoburbia.com, telling us your reason for return. We will then send you a return code to mail to us with your shirt. Your shirt must be unwashed and unworn. We will refund to your original form of payment. We will do our best to process your return or exchange as quickly as possible, usually within 2-3 weeks.

What is your privacy policy?

We will never rent or sell your name, because, well, we hate that. We don’t hold on to your credit card information, which goes through to the secure Paypal site and doesn’t stay in our server.

Why didn’t you list my suburb or school? How can I get a t-shirt with my suburb or school on it?

We have a limited amount of names before a drop-down menu becomes unwieldy. We will be tweaking this feature as we add and subtract names. We are always listening to our customers, so write us and suggest your suburb or school name. Moreover (we’ve always wanted to say moreover), if you can scrounge up a minimum order of 12, snoburbia.com may be able to make your school or suburb t-shirts for you as a special order. I have a cool idea for a t-shirt!

Great! Send us your original idea, either in an .ai or .eps vector file, or if you are not an artist, in a detailed email or scan. Keep it clean and simple. Please send no crude images or ideas. If we use your idea on the website, we will give you $25 plus a free t-shirt of your choice.

Do you want a photo of me wearing a snoburbia.com tee?

Of course! Click on the wall of fame and follow the instructions. Make sure the design is showing clearly and the photo quality is good. And please – no photos of you making a pouty Facebook face…. Fun is good.

How can I be a model on your site?

If you live in the Washington, D.C. area and are 18 or over and want to send us two or three photos at info@snoburbia.com, we’ll take a look. Snapshots are fine. (Please read the last question re: fun is good.) As we expand the site, we may need someone, and who knows? We just may call you up.

Can I link to your site on my blog or website?

Please do! We are always looking for ways to spread the word about snoburbia.com. (For trademark info, read legal mumbo jumbo.)
